- What to Expect
- Blisters, crusts, and scabs are normal and may develop 8–72 hours after treatment.
- Do not pick, scratch, or disturb any blisters, scabs, or crusts. This is crucial to prevent infection and minimise the risk of scarring.
- Blisters typically resolve within 4–6 days after treatment.
- Immediate Care
- Apply a cool pack and/or soothing gel for comfort and to help reduce swelling. You may also use ice for 20 minutes every hour during the first 24 hours if swelling persists.
- Keep the area dry and avoid getting it wet for the first 24 hours.
- Cleaning and Moisturising
- After 24 hours, gently wash the area daily using mild, unscented soap and water—do not scrub.
- Use a fragrance-free healing ointment such as Aquaphor or Vaseline three times a day for the first three days. Keep the area bandaged with a clean bandage each day. After 3 days, remove the bandage and allow the area to air out to promote healing and drying.
- Avoid scented lotions, soaps, and creams containing AHAs until all redness and crusting have healed.
- Activity Restrictions
- Avoid excessive scrubbing, shaving, and any trauma to the area.
- Do not swim, take baths, or use saunas/hot tubs until all blisters and scabs are fully healed.
- Sun Protection
- Avoid sun exposure to the treated area throughout the healing process.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen whenever the area is exposed to the sun for the entire treatment period and for 3 months after your final session.
